Wolfe House & Wellness Centre
Wolfe House and the wellness centre are the latest campus additions at Stanstead College.
The ground-breaking ceremony took place on Saturday, September 24, 2022, with Stanstead College board chair Jonathan Cowen on hand along with Head of School Michael Wolfe, Associate Head of School Joanne Carruthers and Property Committee chair Martin Béasse.
The total cost associated with both buildings is $7.5 million. This project will be financed through donations solicited from the alumni community, our Board of Directors, Trustees, friends of Stanstead College, and the very generous 2022 gift from Alumnus John Mackay, Class of 1952.
With a contract for construction awarded to Conceptions Desrosiers of Magog, the new facilities are scheduled to be ready for students by September 2023.

Wolfe House
Wolfe House will be named after Michael Wolfe, who has spent over 20 years at Stanstead College and the last 18 years as head of school.
Wolfe House will be opening its doors for the junior girls in September 2023. It will include 26 beds for boarders and spaces for 12 day students as well as three apartments for house directors.
The dorm is being built on the southern edge of campus near the former site of the school’s health centre, which was demolished last spring. Since 2019, the College opened Cowen House for Grade 12 students and closed its junior girls residence in Colby, the school’s main building. Since then, Webster House has been the home of all Grade 7 to 11 girls.

The Wolfe family have very deep ties with Stanstead College. Both Mr. Wolfe and Amy Wolfe have been working at Stanstead for almost two decades. All three of their children, Campbell '12, Riley '16 and Hayley '24 have attended and graduated from the College.
Wellness Centre
On April 1, 2022, old health centre was torn down to make way for the new construction of both buildings.
The new wellness centre will reflect a more holistic approach to student well-being, with a staff of two nurses, a full-time counsellor, an athletic therapist and an occasional doctor. The facility will include living areas for two nurses and their families and a third area for an on-call nurse. It will also include beds for 10 students as well as a concussion assessment room.
